Thor Love and Thunder | Marvel Cinematic Universe
During the excitement of the 2019 San Diego International Comic-Con. Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige and director Taika Waititi had announced the fourth film in the Thor movie franchise. Along with the movie announcement, was the return of actors Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, and Natalie Portman. Which had fans cheering for them in a stand ovation.
Since his contracts ended with Avengers Endgame (2019). Actor Chris Hemsworth has said in numerous interviews that he would like to return to the character. Of course, we remember Thor at the end of the events of Avengers Endgame. Where Thor takes a ride into space and re-joins the Guardians of the Galaxy.

The leaked set photos show some returning characters to the next installment from Director Taika Waititi. The pictures show Hemsworth’s return to the character’s classic look. The photos also reveal the return of Chris Pratt’s portrayal of Peter Quill/ Star-Lord. As well as the return of Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. Lastly, we even get a sneak peek at Nebula and Kraglin. Both Karen Gillian and Sean Gunn returning to their respective roles.
Tessa Thompson returns as Valkyrie. At the end of Avengers Endgame (2019), Valkyrie becomes the new queen of New Asgard. There is a rumor that she will also have a romantic relationship with another well known Avenger.
Natalie Portman (Thor) returns as Jane Foster. Based on Jason Aaron’s comic series run. Jane Foster becomes the goddess of thunder while recovering from a life-threatening illness.
Christian Bale joins the cast as Gorr, the God Killer. He is ready to kill any god including the God of Thunder. The excitement to see Bale’s first MCU appearance is ever growing.
Thunderstrike Origin | Marvel Comics
Thunderstrike, aka Eric Materson, who once merged with Thor and took over his mantle as a member of the Avengers during one of Odinson’s absences before becoming a hero in his own right.
Eric Masterson made his first appearance in the comics in Thor issue #391. Created by comic book writer Tom Defalco, comic book artists Ron Frenz and Brett Breeding. Masterson takes over the mantle of the god of thunder in issue #432. It is not until issue #459 when Materson returns to the comic universe as the hero Thunderstrike.
From the set photos it seems that Hemsworth will dawn a similar outfit to Eric Materson’s Thunderstrike.
