Young Justice is finally coming back with a 3rd season! Young Justice Outsiders premiers on January 4th. It will have a full 26 episode season with the first half premiering in January and the 2nd half of the season airing in June. Young Justice Outsiders will be available exclusively on DC’s streaming service, DC Universe.

This new season will have a few new characters and some big changes to past characters. The below article and video goes over most of the new characters and the plot details for the new season.

Young Justice Season 3 New Characters
This new season of Young Justice will have some awesome new characters we are excited to see join the team!
Arrowette
Also known as Cissie King-Jones.
Cissie is seen in season 1 episode 23 “Insecurity”. She is the little blonde girl being put to bed, but then gets pulled out the window by the assassin Black Spider. She looks in horror as her father is dropped out the window, but is saved at the last second by an arrow that turned into giant foam. Cissie then looks on to see Green Arrow and Artemis shooting arrows at Black Spider.
Cissie King-Jones is better known as Arrowette in the comics, a member of Young Justice. She was pressured into being a bow-wielding superhero by her mother. Her mother is the retired Miss Arrowette.
The Cissie King-Jones version of Arrowette first appears in Impulse #28 and was created by Tom Peyer and Craig Rousseau.
Thirteen
Traci Thirteen, also going by Traci 13 and Girl 13, is a powerful witch. She is the daughter of noted magic skeptic Doctor 13 (Terrence Thirteen) and the Asian sorceress Meihui Lan. She is the girlfriend of Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes).
Traci Thirteen first appeared in Superman #189 (February 2003), and was created by writer Joe Kelly and artist Dwayne Turner.
She has Mystical abilities which enable her to tap into the magic of a city, to perform a wide array of magical acts.
Spoiler
She is the alter-ego of Stephanie Brown.
In the comics, Stephanie Brown is the daughter of the minor Batman villain Cluemaster, and has taken on three alter-egos in various times: the Spoiler, the fourth Robin, and the third Batgirl.
Stephanie Brown is seen in season 2, episode 10 “Before the Dawn”. She is one of the teenagers that were taken hostage by Tigress.
Her first appearance in the comics as Spoiler was in Detective Comics #648 (July 1992). Stephanie Brown was created by writer Chuck Dixon and artist Tom Lyle.
Halo
Also known as Violet Harper, was a sociopath who was murdered by Syonide, who worked for the 100 and Tobias Whale. Tobias Whale is also the main villain in the Black Lightning tv show. Her dead body then merged with an Aurakle, an ancient energy-being. This brought her back to life, but gave her memory loss.
Halo first appeared in The Brave and the Bold #200 (July 1983) and was created by Mike Barr and Jim Aparo.
Halo has the ability to fly and can create auras, or halos, around her. These halos have different colors and each color has a different effect. From heat beams to energy beams and more.
Other Character Mentions
Impulse will also be taking over the mantle of Kid Flash. Bart Allen will be taking over for Wally West as Kid Flash.
Kaldur will also be taking over the mantle of Aquaman.
There will also be other characters added to the show throughout the season.
Young Justice Outsiders – Plot Details
Here is the official plot summary for season 3:
“In the highly anticipated new season, the team faces its greatest challenge yet as it takes on meta-human trafficking and the terrifying threat it creates for a society caught in the crossfire of a genetic arms race spanning the globe and the galaxy.”
Greg Weisman, who is one of the original creators of the show gave some insight into the overall plot
“Since the Reach in season two sort of revealed the Meta-Gene, everyone is getting into the act—first world nations, third world nations, rogue nations, corporations, aliens from outer space. Everyone wants to weaponize the human race and meta-human trafficking is the major thing that our characters are dealing with this season.”
