What is Watchmen about?
HBO’s Watchmen takes place 34 years after the events of the comic series. Vigilantes have been outlawed due to their violent and extreme methods. In 1985, Adrian Veidt, formerly known as Ozymandias, manufactured a fake attack on New York City by a giant alien squid. This led to millions of New Yorkers being killed and nations being forced to work together against a common threat, averting a nuclear holocaust.

The series was talked about rumor back in 2015, with discussions with Zack Snyder the director of the 2009 film. In June 2017, HBO had been in negotiations with the series creator and showrunner Damon Lindelof.
He is best known for previous his work with HBO The Leftovers, and also working Bad Robot on Lost, Nash Bridges, Crossing Jordan, and many others.
It was in September 2017, HBO had greenlit the pilot. Filming began in May 2018 and continued through June 2018 in Cedar Town, Georgia. The series got a full season order in August 2018.
Music
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of the band Nine Inch Nails composed the music for the series.
Characters
Angela Abar/ Sister Nite played by Regina King
a Tulsa police detective who dresses as a nun. Granddaughter of Will Reeves aka Hooded Justice. Angela was one of the officers attacked on “White Night” and has since “retired” from the police force to run a bakery, which serves as a cover for her continued police work.
Will Reeves/ Hooded Justice played by Louis Gossett Jr.
He is Angela’s grandfather, formerly known as the vigilante Hooded Justice, the first masked hero that inspired the Minutemen.
Calvin Abar/ John Osterman/ Doctor Manhattan played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
He is Angela Abar’s husband who later turns out to be Jon Osterman/Dr. Manhattan disguised in human form.
Adrian Veidt/ Ozymandius played by Jeremy Irons
A former businessman and the vigilante known as Ozymandias, the world’s smartest man.
Agent Laurie Blake/ Silk Spectre II played by Jean Smart
The former second Silk Spectre. Blake has since become an FBI agent and member of the Anti-Vigilante Task Force.
Wade Tilman/ Looking Glass played by Tim Blake Nelson
He is a Tulsa police detective who wears a reflective mask. Tillman was in New Jersey on 11/2/85, the day Adrian Veidt’s squid attacked New York.
Judd Crawford played by Don Johnson
Chief of the Tulsa police and member of the Seventh Kavalry. In the first episode, Judd Crawford is murdered by Will Reeves aka Hooded Justice for being a member of the Seventh Kavalry, formerly known as Cyclops.
Lady Truie played by Hong Chau
The owner of Trieu Industries, a corporation that bought out Veidt Enterprises following the news of Adrian’s death. Lady Trieu is later revealed to be Adrian Veidt’s daughter by artificial insemination.
