American Gods returns for its second season. The war between the gods is beginning. It is the old gods vs the new gods in the upcoming season for the Starz original series. Our Popcorn Feed hosts Steve and Brian take a look back at the season 1 finale and they discuss the details of the upcoming second season.
In the Season 1 Finale, Mr. Wednesday and Shadow pay the goddess Easter a visit after Wednesday becomes convinced he needs to look for a queen. Laura Moon and Mad Sweeney track them both to Easter’s Kentucky home. Easter informs Laura she can’t be resurrected because she was killed by a god. This forces Mad Sweeney to admit Wednesday arranged Laura’s death and more than likely Shadow’s imprisonment.
At one point during Easter’s party, Mr. World, Media, and Technical Boy arrive and threaten Mr. Wednesday who’s response is to destroy their men using a lightning bolt before declaring himself to be Odin!
Wednesday convinces Easter to use her powers to plunge America into a drought. By this point, Shadow finally declares his belief in the gods, just before Laura arrives to talk to him about Wednesday’s role in her death and his imprisonment.
