The 2020 Award season is upon us. One of the biggest award ceremonies of the year is the  Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s Golden Globe Awards. From Joaquin Phoenix’s performance in The Joker, to Martin Scorcese’s The Irishman, the powerful Marriage Story. Let’s Discuss some of this year’s winners.

Golden Globe Awards

The Golden Globes awards had its first ceremony January 20, 1944. It has been annual ceremony that is the culmination of the best in the film industry. Established in 1943, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, members are  responsible for selecting the nominations of American and international films for the awards. Some of the the previous year’s best performances, movies and television shows are the highlight of the evening.

The biggest highlights of the night come from wins for the masterful performances from Joaquin Phoenix and Renée Zellweger. Quentin  Tarantino’s screenplay and 1917  wins the award for Best Drama motion picture. Although, The Irishman did not win any of the golden globe awards. The film is still praised to win several other awards this season.
