Marvel Comics has hired Jonathan Hickman to create a multiyear plan to restore the X-Men to their rightful place as one of the top selling comic series at Marvel. As we all know, the X-Men comics have kind of been all over the place the last few years. We are very excited to see what Hickman (Fantastic Four, The Avengers, The New Avengers) can do to revamp the X-Men comics series.
New Mini Series
To start things off, we are going to get two new miniseries: House of X and Powers of X. Both of these series will be different but a great starting off point for Hickman. According to Hickman, House of X is set in the present, while Powers of X looks at mutants throughout the history of the Marvel Universe.
Big things are definitely in store and it seems that Hickman has been planning this for a long time:
“This is something I’ve been writing and rewriting in my head since I was a kid,” he says. “I’ve been in the kitchen for a long time with it. I get the ingredients, I get what makes a good meal.”
House of X will be available on July 24, 2019 and Powers of X will come out the following week on July 31, 2019.
